On View
Not on viewThis figure belonged to decoration of the exterior of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, the German trading consortium in Venice. These celebrated frescoes were carried out by Giorgione and his pupil, the young Titian, in 1508-1509. Ruined by exposure and partly transferred to the Accademia, their motifs are most legible in Zanetti’s series of etchings.
