The scene of the Annunciation is at the center of the print, which demonstrates the centrality of the scene to the Christian faithful. Old Testament Prophets surround the scene and Adam and Eve occupy the upper corners of the printed frame. The print conveys the moment when the Old Law (Judaism) gave way to the New Law (Christianity) and allowed for the sins of Adam and Eve to be forgiven.
