Piranesi's Rome
Saturday, May 27, 2017 - Sunday, August 20, 2017
The Blanton Museum of Art presents Piranesi’s Rome, an exhibition of more than forty prints by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720–1778), along with large-scale maps of Rome, books, and plaster casts of Greek and Roman architectural fragments. From technical cross-sections of bridges to fantastical images of ruins, Piranesi’s prints will take you on a journey through his forty-year fascination with the antiquities and architecture of ancient Rome.
