Not on viewSon of Louis XIV and his mistress, Madame de Montespan, the count of Toulouse (1678-1737) became admiral of France at age five. His principal actions were the command of a squadron that upheld Philip V's claims in Sicily in 1702 and a major but indecisive engagement of the English at Malaga in 1704.
This print is an interpretation of Rigaud’s painting of 1708 at Versailles.
