On View
Not on viewCottet was fascinated with the tumultuous seascapes and gray sky in the Brittany region of France. This print, based on his oil painting of the same name, is both a testimony to the fishermen’s life-threatening task and to the power of nature. The overall dark colors and the small scale of the figures contribute to the ominous, overpowering feeling of the approaching storm.
