In this painting, Tweddle transforms nature into a chaotic urban grid. By bisecting his canvas with a procession of crudely drawn cars, he provides a visual analogue for the manner in which industry has taken over the natural world. Through his frenzied composition, Tweddle offers a parody of U.S. society and its beliefs in the ideals of progress and industrialization.
