On View
Not on viewIntroduced to the cliché verre technique in 1853, Corot exploited its potential throughout the remainder of his career, making over 66 cliché-verre prints, more than his production of etchings and lithographs combined. He experimented with softening the line by inserting an extra glass plate between the drawn plate and the light-sensitive paper or by flipping the plate over so that the sun’s rays were refracted through the additional layer.
