Warhol utilizes the mechanical effect of screen printing to transform familiar commercial imagery, in this instance the most famous Pop art emblem of the 1960s, the Campbell's Soup can. In his print, Warhol avoids the irregularities that he consciously included in his painted images. It has been pointed out that, as a result, the print more closely resembles the seamless look of advertising display and reinforces the impression that it is a mass-produced item. (Feldman, 16)
