Rich with symbolism and allegories for queer life, Frank C. Moore’s work often reflected his autobiography and activism. Moore was diagnosed as HIV positive in 1987 and became a founding member of Visual AIDS, a collective that brought awareness to the AIDS crisis through art. His work united imagery related to environmental degradation, science, and healthcare in narratively complex compositions. These drawings present Moore’s speculative designs for “People with AIDS Park,” where oversized body parts act as furniture, fountains, and sculpture, raising awareness of symptoms, prevention, and treatment.
