On View
Not on viewThe Saint Barbara reproduces one of the Earl of Arundel’s many drawings by Holbein (now at Windsor Castle). This superb impression underscores Hollar’s great diligence and particular gift for describing textures. His original etchings include studies of costume, objects of natural history, and illustrations of every kind of text. Greatest in economy, graphic freedom, and influence were his topographic views.
