The Deluge depicts nature in flux, at its most elemental and transitory. The print's incredibly rich surface, achieved through Forsyth's technical brilliance in aquatint, translates into much more than a description of a sudden storm--the artist conveys both the momentary effect and the potential for change held within land and sky.
