In this print, Rosenquist draws his subject matter form mass-media sources, but the effect is one that challenges our perception of the depicted objects through scale distortions, disparate and fragmented image combinations, and color manipulations. The experience of billboard painting informs his style, yet in this particular print the surreal quality of color and imagery produces a work that is several steps removed from the banality of mass advertising.
