After Antonio da Trento, Vicentino was the principal interpreter of Parmigianino’s designs in chiaroscuro woodcut. Their style is characterized by broad cutting, generalized description, and especially fluid effects. Parmigianino’s design for this woodcut survives in the Louvre.
