Not on viewThis personification of Glory, or Fame, astride the globe records one of the figures that flanked a bust of François I in Rosso’s design for the centerpiece of Francois' palace, the grand galerie. Exceptionally nimble in stroke, plastic in form, and equilibrated in design –– poised between the figural and the ornamental –– it suggests why Zerner has called Domenico “one of the masters of printmaking.”
