Paper-like strips painted in primary colors dance and twist in an undefined space lit only by a distant, golden orb. While Charles Joseph Biederman’s New York, 10/35 does not visually reference specific subject matter, its organic forms suggest the irrepressible electricity of New York City. Biederman’s works have been called both Structurist and Constructivist; they attempt to represent the basic structure of nature without imitating its outward appearance
