The subject was a bridesmaid at the wedding of George III and Queen Charlotte in 1761. She is shown wearing the silver and white taffeta and brocade dress from that occasion. Reynolds’s painting is in the possession of Lord Tavistock, direct descendent of Lady Elizabeth’s husband.
