Photorealists are interested more in the way photography structures vision than in the institution of media as subject matter. They adopt familiar images precisely for their banality, but tend to emphasize the beauty, rather than the offensiveness, of such imagery - to celebrate the uniqueness of the commonplace. In Camper, Ralph Goings apparently finds the lack of value judgement in photography conducive to capturing the beauty of the ordinary in contemporary culture.
