On View
Not on viewWorking in a variety of media including digital graphics and video animation, Hung creates self-proclaimed “socially conscious art.” In Because Washington is Hollywood for Ugly People, video collages integrate pop culture and political events while drawing on the graphic
stylings of video games, cartoons, and advertisements. The work’s antic narration reflects the political rants that permeate twenty-first century blogosphere culture. Caricaturizing America’s foremost political figures, Hung portrays the country’s foreign policy issues in video game format, examining how media, power, and performance have pervaded society’s political consciousness.
