On View
Not on viewA painter, draftsman, and graphic artist, Hermelindo Fiaminghi was an early contributor to the Concrete art movement that developed in São Paulo in the 1950s. This particular work is part of a series of three works from 1955, all untitled, reflecting upon his long-term interest in color to organize rhythmic, geometric compositions. In each, circles come into conflict with a grid. Whether his forms spiral outwards, repeat in varied sizes, or lie flat on top of each other, they create the impression of an ambiguous three-dimensional space.
