In "El jarabe muertiano", Eduardo Oropeza depicts the skeleton-costumed cast of Teatro Campesino, a theater group, as they performed "El Fin Del Mundo" ["The End of the World"] in 1978. In the play, the main character Mundo Mata is sent to the land of the dead. His journey there demonstrates the complementary relationship between death and life.
