On View
Not on viewCochin was an eminent artist in the court of Louis XV. His skill as a printmaker earned him many commissions to record official ceremonies and festivities, such as the theatrical performances held to celebrate the marriage of the king's eldest son (aged 16) to Marie Thérèse, princess of Spain (aged 19). The union continued a tradition of Catholic alliances forged to wage war against Protestants.
